Day 15 Nano Poblano :The Chink of Light.

Look for the chink in the wall of water,

Look for that light that will make the dark alter.

Walk the long bridge that goes into the dark close your ears to sound of screams,

They are only your fears released into the nightmare of your dreams.

Walk bare foot along the bridge unless you slip,

Tread slowly don’t rush you don’t want to trip.

There are no railings to save you if you fall

No safety net to save you, no nothing at all.

Look towards the chink of light

It is far away and deep into the night.

Steadily is the only way to proceed

One step at a time sadly there is no use for speed.

Don’t look up and don’t look down

Keep your eyes ahead  don’t you dare turn round.

Lest you slip, lest you fall no need too scream no need to call

There is no help for you if you fall.

grief

Welcome to my world

I have tried so hard to fight that wall

To cross the bridge and smash it all.

The further I go forward the further in to the distance it retreats

I have run, and I have crept and still the pattern repeats.

I try as I might, I try as I may

But pain is the same by night and by day.

I must keep going I cannot give in,

To reach the chink of light even if my chances are thin.

I can’t go round it I cannot pass through

There seems no way over. Help me, what am I to do?

Day 14: Nano Poblano

Fourteen  days a fortnight

Three hundred  and  thirty  six hours

20160 minutes that’s right

129600 seconds enough to fill many  towers.

That is what is behind, the stairs  we still have to climb

These days, hours, minute and seconds we  must  fill

We must keep going  for we need to spin this time.

No  giving up no giving in our soul on to the page  we spill.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yea Mark!
Nightmare Day : Day 13 Nano Poblano
Today has  been a  nightmare, today was just too sad
A day I should not of started
Nothing seemed to go to plan, it was just too bad.
Everything was topsy turvy  everything half hearted.
I am only writing this with minutes  left to spare
Rushing to get a post done as the moments slip away
I really want to say something for  Nano Poblano, yes I really care.
So here we go  let’s  press the button  and get this post published today!
Over the Abyss : Day 12 Nano Poblano
Still, all around is still
The night is black the air is chill
The fear is harsh inside  my guts
White pain through out my soul erupts.
Lost, lost am I
Screaming soundlessly into the sky.
On the abyss I stand
The devil waits to take my hand.
No one, no one cares to save my soul
Not one prepared to keep me whole
The demons start to tear me limb from limb
They greedily draw my intestines from within.
No more is left of me
Just  my tortured Spirit entrapped , unfree
Gone  forever over the abyss
No one cares I am not missed
LEST WE FORGET / REMEMBRANCE: Day 11 Nano Poblano
Lest we forget
Lest we forget? a war  to end all wars
Yet everywhere  you look there  are more  and more!
We preach  peace, we say no more
Still somewhere, on every  continent,  someone is at war!
Neighbour  against neighbour  brothers and sisters  too
Always it is  the innocents  who do the  suffering.  What are we to do?
They are erecting giant Poppies to commemorate the start of  the first world war.
It started  in a foreign land, a duke  was shot  the result we know and  more.
The first world war started in 1914  on the 28th of July
Sadly looking round the  world , we have learned  nothing . Can you tell me why?
Remembrance
Today was a special day a date carved in my mind. Today it is time for us to remember the soldiers who died for all mankind.
Walking up to town today my poppy on show just a little reminder, my reverence to show. The high street was busy full of people to and fro and traffic rushing through as motorists on their journeys go.
Today it will be different, today is not the norm, though busy roads and people about their business go. Outside the Town Hall and in the Market Place  groups of people gather some smile and wave the older men embrace.
Now the clock hands approach the eleventh hour and through our town surges gratefulness you can feel it’s power. For every shopper stops and stands and every coffee shop and bar is silent now because the clock bell tolls the hour.
The tills in the supermarkets and every shop are silent and with stationary shoppers filled  and even the mighty traffic is in it journey is stilled. In silence I stood and watched this strangest but most merited tribute and as ever I shed a tear as the old men took a salute.
Two minutes and it was over all trace of silence gone, the shops are once more busy the stilled traffic now moves on. I meet my friend and as in to Costa we go I say a silent thank you to all those brave men and women who I do not know . They fought , some gave their lives for me so I could be free, in Flanders , Turbrook and Tripoli, on the Somme , Leningrad, Pearl Harbour, Goose Green, Helmand Province, Iraq and Iran and many, many other places defended by a brave woman or a man.
I make no apology I will be politically in-correct for so many have offered up their lives and my life they still effect!
I shall not forget them and neither should you for without them you would not be free to do most of the things you do!They fought against what ever foe that threatened our freedom to take and they often had to give the biggest sacrifice anyone  has to make.
So on this 11th day of this 11th month in 14th year of this millennium I stood at 11o’clock with many others to salute our soldiers, sailors and our airmen and many, many others. For they have given their all for us my sisters and my brothers.We owe them a THANK YOU.
THANK YOU
If We Were Having Coffee; Day 9 Nano Poblano
Hello  and welcome  again to Sunday  morning  If we were having coffee!  This week  and all through November we will as always  be  joining  forces with Paul  and his gang but for me it will also  part of  Nano Poblano ! This  will not effect any  of  you no one will need any  special injections  or travel sickness pills , Trust  me I am not a doctor.  Also on the “do not worry” front  the strange looking  guy in the Black Cowl has finally  left . Yesterday  morning  he picked up  his Scythe and walked. No thank you or by  your leave … not  a word! I have just managed to clean up the carpet, but it maybe still a little wet.
So come on in,I must apologize  for being so late! We have the coffee and the cakes  ready and set out  and  the fire is lit! The sofas and armchairs  have their cushions all plumped up! So go on spoil yourselves we have stocked up on hot chocolate now and brought in some good books for you to read too and as a special winter  treat  we have some liqueurs ! I can hear Paul has all his guests,  who also  have moved in here now,  so lets mingle and  see, what have you been up to this week?
If we were having coffee : I would ask you what have you been up to this week. Have you been well, have you done anything out of the ordinary? Now  before  we go any  further is there a particular drink  you would  like, lets have some cake too. The  magic about things  here is that  all food is calorie free, all drinks  too no matter how much cream or sugar  you may  fancy . No matter  the size of cake  you might wish to eat  or  what ever liquor you might  decided to lace  your  coffee, tea  or chocolate  with it will never affect your  health or  your waistline! This is a healthy zone.
I mean just  look at this one  and this is just one of  many!
If we were having coffee : I tell you  how I have been beavering away  at Nano Poblano. I have joined  Mark  Bialczak’s  Team Pepper, check Marks  blog out here.  I have  found this  quite challenging  but very rewarding  and I have met lots of  lovely  new bloggers which is reward enough. So a big  hand  for Mark  and Team Pepper!
If we were having coffee : I would say I have not been on top of  my game  this  week I had to have a small op which  was not a very  nice way to spend an afternoon. Luckily I did not have any anaesthetic and so I was able to go home afterwards … no so lucky  in that it was not  a little harrowing  but happily soon over.  I shall know the results  soon  but  hopefully  all is well  and  that will be that. I was in an NHS hospital and it was a very different  experience  to the hospital that Hubby had to visit last week. I have to say though  what my visit lacked in surroundings, comfy chairs , free tea and coffee was made up  the pleasant  and caring staff. There are pros  and cons to both. Hubby could not park as the car park was full and unlike the Private hospital where the parking was free it was very expensive. Luckily  Hubby knows the area well so he cruised around until he found an offsite  parking space after dropping me off.
If we were having coffee : I would  say that this week has the build up to Remembrance Sunday and there have been people selling poppies to raise funds for the Royal British Legion. The Royal   British Legion  help soldiers injured in service  and families of those have died in wars to cope emotionally  and in anyway way they  may need help, ie, giving  them monetary help and any support they might need. If the soldiers come home maimed  or have lost a limb  they help the to adapt or find  new homes among other things.They  work very hard as there is never enough government  money around  and they will often go cap in hand to Charities.
Tomorrow is  the Remembrance Day Parade  at the Cenotaph  in London  to find out  more  read here . My hubby goes up to London  every Remembrance  Sunday to help marshal  the older and disabled  service men and women. It is a very long day  for some of the older people and  they do need some shepherding!  It is also a long day for Hubby!  Hello  it is now 6.30am  Sunday  morning and still I have not  got this coffee morning  sorted,  my apologies! The  hubby  has  been gone an hour  and I have  my fingers crossed the weather will stay fine  and all will be well and safe.
If we were having Coffee : I’d  say  Paul is that piece of cake  big  enough I am certainly  going to have some! Would  anyone else like some there is plenty here for all. I am going to get a coffee would  anyone else like one?? I am trying to think if  I have any amusing  stories to tell you this week  but I have not really  it just seems to have been a hum drum week  with some  heavy  personal things going on… No I think I need to explain that if I can.  We, mainly  the husband,  have been helping  some disabled  acquaintances who have had some bad luck of late  and we have found  that  some of the channels  to use to get them this financial  help are  very hard to navigate. Plus  we have been busy  we our own lives.
If we were having Coffee :  I would tell you that I am very jealous of the hubby  because on Thursday he was over a the Newbie’s house doing a job  for the little family  that required an empty  house. I was unable to go as I was feeling not so good from the little op the day before  and while  he was there the  Newbie and his Mum  dropped in. ( our  son was  way abroad on business, home now, and Newbie  and Mum were staying  with the other grandparents) . So hubby  got to see Newbie!!  He did bring me home some photos. So that at least was a consolation! It is amazing  he  seems to grow every time  we see him, I get so exited even over a photo!
If we were having Coffee : I would say I make no apologies  for the  two Remembrance videos. I will say I am including soldiers  from  ALL Nation’s FROM PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE when I say THANK YOU.
If we were having Coffee :  After one minutes silence, we really  must never forget, and we should be grateful for what member’s of our different  country’s military services  have done for us. Let’s pray that one day  not too far away  we can celebrate  the day all wars stopped and we have Peace.
IF WE WERE HAVING COFFEE: I would ask you if you would  like another  cuppa, or  another cake . !   If we were having Coffee  Original idea  from  http://parttimemonster.wordpress.com/
Paul your Barista
Your Barista – Paul
Welcome to Willow’s weekly coffee and tea garden. My name is Paul and I’m happy to be here once again inside Willow’s home where it is nice and toasty, tending to your needs for a cuppa, and sweets. We’ve moved inside to beat the winter cold in the garden. I’d be pleased to bring a pot of whatever beverage you prefer – we have a wide range of teas and coffees to satisfy our world-wide readership. We can relax with a cuppa and calorie free electronic sweets while we discuss the affairs of the week both personal and/or worldwide. How has your week been?
Well, the world this week seems to be rolling along without any headline grabbing news. I am surprised at how low key the whole week has been. It seems, from here, as if everything is more subdued this week as the weather gets increasingly colder and a sense of an impending storm gathers. Clouds and wind and cold have reigned with a sense of changes coming. Our weather forecasters are predicting snow flurries over the next 3 days. The last vestiges of summer have come and gone and fall is giving way to winter.
The trees are all bare now and the squirrels are wandering around with little to do. I was walking home late Wednesday afternoon from the corner store and a single squirrel stood on the sidewalk, eating a nut while he watched me approach. For a minute I started to slow down as he didn’t seem to be willing to give ground. Tiny bits of shell sprayed as he nibbled on his nut. He seemed rather threatening in a way but eventually turned and moved further down the sidewalk where he stood his ground yet again, waiting for me to approach. This happened twice more before he moved off the sidewalk, stood beside a tree and watched as I walked past him to my door. Squirrels with too much time to kill can be scary. What is the wildlife up to in your area? Any changes in behaviour as the season changes? Perhaps deer or skunks or raccoons or other animals changing their habits?
 Would you like another cuppa? Perhaps a sweet to go with that? Maybe a Christmas nut or mint? We even have some candy canes for the children in us all.
Have you noticed that Christmas is starting to get in your face lately? I was checking for a favorite TV program the other day and realized that our Showtime cable channel is now playing all Christmas movies. Yikes! I have to admit, though, that I do enjoy the more positive perspective of these movies. One gets tired of action shows with people getting killed and things blowing up. A little Christmas cheer helps the psyche by times. I have to confess that I’m the guy your will hear humming Christmas songs in July. The stores are starting to display their holiday goods and some decorations are going up. Many grumble about this but I’m OK with it. A few years ago, one of our national drug stores started to play Christmas music 24/7 at the beginning of November and got so many complaints from customers that they stopped until early December. I rather enjoyed the tunes.
On a more personal front I had an alright week. It started off poorly as I felt so unwell Monday that I skipped dialysis, something I rarely do – perhaps once every six months or so. This does not make me feel any better but as long as I don’t miss two treatments I just feel lousy. I have a bit of kidney function left so it is not immediately life threatening for me to miss – but it is for some. A patient with no kidney function at all risks electrolyte imbalance – electrolytes are responsible for many functions including setting heart rate and beat – and is at risk of dying of a heart attack after 6 days without dialysis.
Anyway, I’ve been having some issues with restless legs just during dialysis and it seems to be getting worse. I have tried a couple of medications but they only work for a few weeks and then they stop working. The doctors are working on it and hopefully will have an alternate answer by next week. Meanwhile, I got fed up with my legs moving all during dialysis – it is very tiring and frustrating. So, I tried taking both medications simultaneously on Wednesday and Friday –EEEHAW! Ha! I was out like a light during dialysis – it worked like a charm. However, afterwards I felt like I had a hang over – red eyes, headache (which I rarely get) and nausea. Yum. Hopefully we’ll come up with an answer next week. Have you ever had medications that interact with each other? How do you control the interactions of what various doctors prescribe? Do you consult with your pharmacist? Perhaps do you have a family member who is in the medical field who helps?
On a happy note, I was busy sleeping during treatment on Friday when one of the aids woke me up. She had an extra meal, still hot, that had come for an inpatient who did not get to dialysis, and she wanted to know if I wanted it. I agreed and ate a very nice supper – chicken basted in some kind of sweet sauce, mashed potatoes, peas, tea, a roll and for desert, an apple crumble. The hospital has been making a serious effort to improve their food, and I must say it was very tasty. Of course, I’m a bachelor so my meals are pretty basic but still the supper was delicious. I kept falling asleep as I was eating the crumble, and would wake up with the loaded fork sitting on my chest – Ha! – imagine, not even able to get the food to my mouth, that’s a sad state of affairs. .What is your experience with hospital food? Do you think it has improved over the years or gotten worse?
Would you like another cuppa? I think I’ll have a candy cane as well – I brought some just to spread the cheer… Willow and I are honored that you dropped by today to visit. I hope you’ve enjoyed yourself and the conversation and please feel free to look around at Willow’s other posts while you’re here. Have a great week. We look forward to seeing you here in the garden again next week.
Empty House Nonet : Day 8 Nano Poblano
Silence creeps around  the old  dark house
All quiet, quiet as a mouse .
Suddenly bang goes the door
Louder than ever before.
It was the north wind
Rushing right through
Dancing leaves
Lifted
High.
It will be a pig’s foot in the morning! Day 7 Nano Problano
“It  will be a pig’s foot in the morning ”
That what my Dad used to say
I thought I have a trotter growing  in the dawning.
I was haunted the idea it would not go away.
Any cut or bruise, and pain or ill
Would  be a pig’s foot  by sunrise
He’d deal with all upset  he had a special skill
Yet always instead of  a trotter  we’d be better . What a surprise.
❤  ❤    ❤
When I was a little  girl if ever  I was hurt my Dad would  tend  to me  ( if  he was home ) he always  told  me and any  of the others  that our  cut, wound, bruise or  pain  would  be a pigs foot in the morning. I can remember sitting up  and  staying  awake  to see if  my  arm or leg  would  miraculously  turn into a pig’s trotter over night.  No matter  how hard I tried to stay awake    to watch this  amazing transformation I always  fell asleep  and  I never witnessed anything of the sort.
