IF WE WERE HAVING COFFEE: NANO POBLANO DAY 30

Well there  you all are  welcome, come on in it is lovely  to see you! We have decided  that as  we are not  putting a tree or  decorations up  this  year ( in the real world )   that I could  put up Christmas  decorations in our virtual one! …all I want! So here we go!

Cosy Coffee Christmas

If we were having Coffee . Come on in the fires are lit  the cushions are plumped up and  we have  the coffee and tea and the cakes and sweets are set out. Paul  and  his guests  are all here  and they are enjoying  the warmth  and food and drinks. We  have  tea  and coffee  from all over  the world not to mention all our cakes  and muffins  and  as Paul  calls  them sweets! Every single  one  is  calorie  free! Plus of course  we now have spirits  and liquors  to warm the coldest of  you .

What  can I get you, how about  some Christmas cake?  They  do look good  don’t  they, Holly

and Penguins.

If  we were having coffee:  I would  say  I need to think hard  about positives and happy things  because I am low , but hey you don’t  want to know that!

More coffee or tea anyone  or shall we go mad  and have a drink ..why  not  lets  get hung for a sheep as a lamb!

If  we were having coffee:  I ‘d say  there were some high spots in the week where I managed to forget  the real world. The visit to Canterbury  and West Gate on Sea was wonderful  and the husband and I  were bowled over  by the fabulous Cathedral! We spent three hours wandering around  this wonderful palace of God.

It was not  hard  to see  why the pilgrims of  the 10th century  and forward  were amazed  by the sights. They  must of  felt  they were in the entrance  to heaven. It was  so other worldly  and huge  how on earth did they  manage  to build it  , if  you are interested  you can find out here! .

  1. It is the cathedral of the Archbishop of Canterbury, leader of the Church of England and symbolic leader of the worldwide Anglican Communion. Its formal title is the Cathedral and Metropolitical Church of Christ at Canterbury. Founded in 597, the cathedral was completely rebuilt from1070 to 1077. read  more about it here.
The  Next day  we met up  with friends  we have known for 48 yrs…that is a long time isn’t it ! We sat around chatting  all day then in the evening we went out for a meal.. then drove home , a two hour drive , well worth every mile!
If  we were having coffee:   I would ask if  you would  like to see some more Cathedral photos. You really  do not  have any  choice  here they are ready or  willing or  not!

If  we were having coffee:  I would  tell  you how behind I am with  Christmas preparations, no  decs  or tree  this year  so really  it is just cards and pressies . So far I have only  written about  10 cards  which means at least another 200 to go! 😦  So  after  I have finished  this  I will really  have to  set to and get them written  today.
    Carrot Cake

If we were having coffee: I offer  you another  cuppa  and ask you what  has happened in your world  this week? If  you are American  you will have celebrated  Thanks Giving. I do hope  you have had a wonderful  time. It  has been a long  week packed  with busy things. I even managed  afternoon  tea with a friend . That was fun we took a bus  to the nearest town  and had tea and  naughty  cake !

Well I do need  to go now  so I will apologise  for for  not being  myself  and probably  just rambling ! I promise I am going  to pull my socks up  and sort myself out! No one likes  a miserable  toad so I am not  going to be one!!IF WE WERE HAVING COFFEE:  I would say  lets  go and see what Paul’s  guest are up to lets  all mix  and have fun.  I would ask you if you would  like another  cuppa, or  another cake . !   If we were having Coffee  Original idea  from  http://parttimemonster.wordpress.com/

Female, wife, full time mother and Grandmother. I am not as happy go lucky as I used to be but I am still bubbling along on simmer! I have three handsome sons all grown and flown. The youngest married with a beautiful wife and two sons of his own. Eleven years ago I was working, running a home, driving and socializing then bang in a split second all that was gone. I had an accident at home. I broke my back, not for the first time, I had broken it 10 years previously as well. Unfortunately this time I had broken it really badly and it was truly messed up so I had to have two operations. I was told before each operation that the outcome could mean I spend the rest of my life in a wheelchair. Still as some guy once wrote "I am still standing " yes "better than I ever was " not quite but with the help of a walking stick and as long as I do not stand or sit in one position for too long, I am still standing! Update I no longer use the walking stick . I had lots of friends before the accident but when things like this happen, you loose most of them. Their lives move on and mine stood still and so they left me behind ...I know that is just the way life is but it hurt and always will. Then I looked around and saw those who were still there for me, these friends are the roses in my garden they need to be tended well. They are the diamonds in the dust, I will of been married 50yrs plus this year . Pain and boredom are my enemies now, I have to find different ways to approach life, use my pain befriend it almost...yer right , well that is what they tell me at the pain clinic ROFLMAO ...... if only I could! I have found an outlet for my fears, frustrations and night terrors . I have started writing poetry if that name can be applied to my writing. I hope I do not come over as a moaning winger. I hope I am past all that. I also hope that you might see how the poetry is moving from very dark through the grey and hopefully in to light ?? I need to update this a little here. I have worked very hard over the years since my accident, I go to the gym regularly, I have a Pilates class and a core class once a week . The guys at the gym and my Pilates teacher cajoled, teased, bullied and encouraged me to abandon my walking stick! :) My back is no longer straight it is C shaped because of the injury and I have lost two and a half inches in height but my Pilates and Core teachers have helped me to stand up as straight and as strongly as possible. Pain and depression are still hanging on my arm but I have weapons to use against them and if I say so myself I cope well. I have made lots of new friends, real diamonds. I am also very grateful for all the support and help I have encountered here on Wordpress. Hugs and welcome to everyone who visits.

  1. Wow Willow, those photos are amazing. Both the pics of Canterbury and the Christmas cakes and decorations. Love the photo of the fireplace and tree – it looks so inviting. The cakes made my mouth water. Please include some more Christmas photos in future posts/ I love decorations and Christmas trees – the more the better. It is one of my favorite things about the season – the decorations and cheerful presentation. (And of course the cakes and cookies – Yum!) I truly hope that things get better for you and tthat maybe you are allowed a few decorations anyway. Hang in there Willow, we’re all supporting you. 🙂

    1. Glad you like the decs as there will be more! It’s not that I am not allowed decs it’s just we will not be in much! Thank you for your support I do feel it!!! ❤

  2. Love the decorations. Feels so relaxing and Christmasy and the fireplace is toasty.

Hope you feel more like yourself soon. It’s energy sapping to be so dragged down. ❤ ❤

Your photos are outstanding and the cathedral magnificent. I can't believe it only took seven years to build. 😮 Amazing.
