The Journey : Musical Theme

Eva chose JOURNEY as our Music Theme for this week.   This  is the Journey  of  my  life  so far.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Keane  On The Road
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

My Journey started at  birth dragged  kicking  and screaming  from the womb into the harsh light of day. The start of  the long road.

The Journey Part 1

Set upon this path, a route I do not know

Destination withheld from the very start.

Blindly  footstep after footstep, steady slow.

Arms outstretched searching  with my heart

Forced out into the light from the warmth of within

I was not ready for this world so cold  and bright

Covered in blood and marked  with original sin

I stumbled on towards  the eternal light.

Dark Road  Annie Lennox

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The dark road of my school years.
The Journey Part 2
And  so here at 7yrs  the child is formed still so far to go  and on a dark road.
I love to colour  I love to dance I love to sing
Drawing cutting  pasting telling stories to my  Ted.
I am  not  pretty I am not  clever I am not  slim
I fly across  the skies  with imaginary  friends  and go exhausted to my bed!
Coming up  14yrs  school is hard  and husband is  met
But  being  the butt of  everyone’s spite is a hard hat  to ware !
The  teachers  do not like  me,  the girls see me as an easy target
I spend  my time  pretending I don’t care
Imogen Heap  Who’s  Getting scared  now.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Early Married years  and babies, lost  and kept.

The Journey Part 3

Twenty one  and  my  journey  moves on

Been Married  now  4yrs

So far we have a son

We have lost three babies  and this has brought  us tears.

Soon another  boy arrives making two

I grieve  for those I lost

I treasure  my  boys  and my  husband too

I am lost that is the high cost.

Peter Frampton  The Long  and Winding road

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My middle  years.
The Journey Part 3
happy day
happy day
I am in  my  thirties  now  and yet  another  boy
I am on my own a lot as the husband’s job takes him away
The  boys  grow they race through teenage years , arguments and joy.
They are leaving school , university  and home they leave me no matter what I say.
Forties Fifties flying  by  I am changing  time for me
Get  a new  job I like,  with prospects, husband leaves  and  then later returns.
The boys  become men they get jobs  and travel here and there and across the sea.
Then one  finds a  wife  we all give him away , tears of joy in our eyes burn.
Marmalade  Reflections of  my  life!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

My life  as it is.

The Journey Part 4

Now into  my sixth decade

With all that has come and gone

The right choices and the wrong ones made

I am older maybe wiser now like lyrics of a song.

A baby I have  been , a child and a young girl

I have lived and  loved  been married  and become a mum

I have seen  so many things to make your minds twirl

I find  much comfort now as a grandma I have become.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My Journey  through life to be continued.
