Well I thought I just might gatecrash the Musical Theme this week which was chosen by Bear . The title of which today is RENDEZOUS.
A rendezous,

Lindisfarne Meet me on the corner : A perfect example of a rendezous . “Meet me on the corner when the sun is going down and I’ll be there I promise I’ll be there. ” Time and place and expectations.
The Failed rendezous , the broken date. There on time and waiting excitedly …. sadly the boy is waiting in vane. For whatever reason the girl does not turn up. Has something happened to her, has she met someone else, has she been forbidden to go by an angry parent. Is she a married woman or a girl with a boyfriend who has stopped her from keeping her rendezous, we will never know.
Sandy Shaw Girl Don’t Come
The Rendezous, the place to meet. “ We all have friends who have friends by the river, who too have friends who have friends of their own. All seated round having Port after dinner. Port that was bought by the friends they have known.” The river being the place to be, the rendezous to meet friends and eat together.
Arrival Friends
The Chance meeting that leads to a rendezous.
“Rendezvous where to my place say 2 & we can do anything you wanna do. Hey, tonight is your night yeah, When you close your eyes, take a minute, take a moment realise. Do you see me when you fantiasise.Tonight’ll be your night”
Craig David….. Rendezous
The place for a meeting by seaside this time! The film in the video is just so lovely!
Queen Seaside Rendezous
Rendezous
I was there where were you
My watch had not stopped I was there at two!
The Restaurant was buzzing, so many people saw me all alone
Looking stupid, like a spare part , so embarrassed I wanted to turn to stone!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Rendezous
You bring the wine
I shall name the place and time
We shall meet and our hands entwine
It will be the rendezous of all time!
Amazing, Willow. I remember young men who looked just like those in Lindisfame, Queen Seaside Rendezvous is lovely. Everyone is so unselfconscious and happy, just regular folk and not worried about it 🙂
Your Rendezvous poems bring back a remembrance,or two, too 🙂 🙂 🙂
As for the poems, yes I think we have all been there! ..The young men in Lindisfarne, I have known a few of them too… infact I do recall my husband sporting long hair, moustache, flairs and tank top….. sheesh! where were the fashion police! ❤ ❤
Your husband? Does he dare recall? I thought he was the sort who had never been young. 🙂
It is a neat concept, isn’t it? Definitely best dealt with using poetry and songs. It always strikes me, at every rendezvous, how amazing it is that two completely different lives or groups of lives come together on nothing but an agreement to do so. Often lives seem to intersect in ways that are driven by circumstances or serendipity or even fate – which makes a rendezvous very special as a mark of choice. Our gift from God by grace – the ability to make things happen by our will, our choice.
Neat post Willow. Thank You.
Sep 19, 2014 @ 01:22:05
Hello my dear lady…. It’s serendipity, indeed, that I came by today, when I saw you’d stopped by ECR…. I love this one, and, if you stop by tomorrow, you’ll see that I’ve added a new section, with music and movie videos… which I learned to do yesterday, succeeding in posting a video of a powwow in the midwest this summer…. So, having been successful once, I can do it again… I don’t have one about a rendezvous yet, but, next time you do this one, I’ll find one to contribute…
Take care, milady and thanks for all your support over the years….
Love,
Ned, aka, gigoid, the dubious, but, not about that..
Good morning Sir. It has been my great pleasure and fun to follow you these last few years. You have educated me, entertained and made me sit up and think.
I look forward to seeing your video and will let you know what and when the next Musical theme post pops up.
It is a privilege to know you through this blog Ned. Be well and happy. Xxx xxx
Very nice songs Willow, I really like Lindisfarne, awesome 70’s groove like CCR (Credence). But wait, no Imogen? I miss her presence. 🙂
Funky tune by Queen, I had no idea they wrote Seaside Rendezous, but I’m not surprised, always fresh and invigorating.
Thanks for sharing, you should gatecrash more often!☼
Glad you like the song, I used to love Credence Clearwater Revival too…sorry had to show off with full name!! 🙂 There was not a really apt Immi song about Rendezvous but here nearest I can think of, of her songs. It is called Telecommunications it is all about how difficult it can be trying to connect to each other.
Sep 21, 2014 @ 03:13:55
Thank you Willow I enjoyed the song, perhaps the lack of communication necessitates personal rendezvous. 🙂
I think you are so right!! great song and video! 🙂
