Escape

Hot  sun upon my skin , gentle breeze  lifts  my  hair and cools  me

I am relaxed my mind is spinning free, here upon the shore listening  to the sea.

I am alone,  I am at  peace , I love to  be here  on the shore

Silver reflections dancing  on  the water, I wish  this peace could last forevermore.

The birds  wheel and swoop  I hear  their cries

My heart  calls out  to them, as  do  my  arms  as away  they fly.

Alone and solitary but  feeling  free the sand  between  my toes

I  may be miles away  and sad  but to my  favourite  beach my mind flows.

Great poem Willow. I was raised in Halifax Nova Scotia, Canada, a port city on the east coast. I love beaches and grew up wandering them. Your poem deals with a beautiful day at the beach and I found that even in wild storms the beach was just as amazing. You brought back a lot of memories. The video was cool – en francais. Very peaceful. Thanks for the post Willow.

A temporary escape? The main character sounds uplifted and freed. ❤

Willow, I just love this visualization. I’m hoping things will improve for you when the tide turns and dances along with you or, at least, brings a new calm and vibrancy as it cleanes the sand and deposits new treasure. Jx

Such peace in this. The sea can be so soothing even in its extremes.
