If we were having coffee.

IF WE WERE HAVING COFFEE:  I would  say hello  and how are  you this week , then we could  smile  at  the fact that  we can  have two  get together’s because  we have all had  coffee with  Paul    and  I really enjoyed  that!

Now  this week,  though I am hosting  we are going over  to the  The Blue Madame  to have tea at  her place! I am really  looking  forward  to  this  as I have heard  so  many little  snippets  about  what  she would  like to do. In  fact , I think it was last year,  she had a lovely  Tea Afternoon  with all her local  friends and her sister. She has lots of  lovely  china  which  she was delighted  to get  to use! … I hope  we get the best china  and as long  as there  are no  marauding Raccoon’s  hiding in the bushes I shall be sure  not to drop  any  cups  or saucers.

IF WE WERE HAVING COFFEE: I would have  say  isn’t  it lovely  here. Look we can either  sit in the garden ( yard if you are American) or inside ! Look  here is Deana  the cat  coming to welcome us , oh! hello  sweety  you are so pretty, it is so  nice  to meet  you at last. Look  there is the husband he is keeping  in the background… I think  that, that  apron  really  suits  him.

Aha!  here is  our delectable  and generous  hostess   Hi  there Madame  or  shall  we call  you Blue. It is  so lovely  to see at  last  we have chatted  or  wordpress  and the occasional email  it is so lovely  to be  here  with  you to relax over tea  and have a chat.

Now  as  we are  here on a visit  why  don’t  you tell us some  more about your  job  you always have me in stitches  when you describe  some of  your more precise clients ( code  for winging  moaners ) it always  reminds  me of  some of the awkward  souls I had to deal with in my customer service days!

Is  that  your  sister, I can see  the likeness, look she is coming over, hi  there  how are you today.

IF WE WERE HAVING COFFEE: I would  tell you how busy a week I have had , it just  has not stopped. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday  I was up at 6pm  and off to the gym. I have been told  by  the doctors  if  I don’t  exercise regularly my  back  would slip again  apparently  not where  they fixed  the breaks  but above or below. Luckily  my  two  classes  were not on this week  because I don’t  think  I could of fitted  them in!

We are in the middle  of  a  spell of  wonderful  weather here  in the UK  at  the moment  so with  the view the weather  and a couple of  stops  for coffee  and icecream  we had  a perfect day!

Thursday  the gym  housework  then in the afternoon I  met  some  of  the girls I used  to work  with  before I retired …only  one is still working . Then in the evening  we were out  with friends  for an Indian meal  which  was yum!

Friday  we were up early  and , my  hubby  and I  caught  a bus (  new route which  actually   passes  our front door ) to our nearest large  town . We  did some shopping , had a coffee  and a chat  then  we walked  along  the river, we saw lots of  water  birds. The  stars of  which  was this Swan family. Dad  spent  a lot of  time chasing  the Canada  Geese  away… we have a lot  of Canadian Geese  we also have some English ones too!

IF WE WERE HAVING COFFEE:   I  would  mention  that  we went over to see the Newbie  who is growing so  fast I can’t  keep up !! Hubby  and son did some gardening , daughter in  law and I helped a little  then we played  with Newbie   and we all had a cup of coffee.

IF WE WERE HAVING COFFEE:  I will have to say I must  dash no  as there  is  a lot  to be done  this afternoon! I  would  love  to stay   but I have to go but  you are  all more  than welcome  to stay…OH! Hang  on Blue is it alright  if  everyone  stays a while.

Thank you so  much Madame for  putting  up  with  me  and  being  so gracious  to  all our  visitors!!

If we were having coffee I’d ask  you : would you like another  cuppa, or  a biscuit . I’d  tell you I have really  come to enjoy  these chats  and I’d  love  to here  what you would  tell me , If we were having Coffee  Original idea  from  http://parttimemonster.wordpress.com/

Female, wife, full time mother and Grandmother. I am not as happy go lucky as I used to be but I am still bubbling along on simmer! I have three handsome sons all grown and flown. The youngest married with a beautiful wife and two sons of his own. Eleven years ago I was working, running a home, driving and socializing then bang in a split second all that was gone. I had an accident at home. I broke my back, not for the first time, I had broken it 10 years previously as well. Unfortunately this time I had broken it really badly and it was truly messed up so I had to have two operations. I was told before each operation that the outcome could mean I spend the rest of my life in a wheelchair. Still as some guy once wrote "I am still standing " yes "better than I ever was " not quite but with the help of a walking stick and as long as I do not stand or sit in one position for too long, I am still standing! Update I no longer use the walking stick . I had lots of friends before the accident but when things like this happen, you loose most of them. Their lives move on and mine stood still and so they left me behind ...I know that is just the way life is but it hurt and always will. Then I looked around and saw those who were still there for me, these friends are the roses in my garden they need to be tended well. They are the diamonds in the dust, I will of been married 50yrs plus this year . Pain and boredom are my enemies now, I have to find different ways to approach life, use my pain befriend it almost...yer right , well that is what they tell me at the pain clinic ROFLMAO ...... if only I could! I have found an outlet for my fears, frustrations and night terrors . I have started writing poetry if that name can be applied to my writing. I hope I do not come over as a moaning winger. I hope I am past all that. I also hope that you might see how the poetry is moving from very dark through the grey and hopefully in to light ?? I need to update this a little here. I have worked very hard over the years since my accident, I go to the gym regularly, I have a Pilates class and a core class once a week . The guys at the gym and my Pilates teacher cajoled, teased, bullied and encouraged me to abandon my walking stick! :) My back is no longer straight it is C shaped because of the injury and I have lost two and a half inches in height but my Pilates and Core teachers have helped me to stand up as straight and as strongly as possible. Pain and depression are still hanging on my arm but I have weapons to use against them and if I say so myself I cope well. I have made lots of new friends, real diamonds. I am also very grateful for all the support and help I have encountered here on Wordpress. Hugs and welcome to everyone who visits.

  1. If we were having coffee, I’d tell you what a delight it is to listen to your snippets of your week and to see the photos of the lovely places you’ve been. It’s always a pleasure to share this time with you.

  2. Well Willow, what a great surprise! Thanks for the invite over here to Blue Madame’s. I’d love a cuppa of coffee, if you would. Thank you. So pleased to hear of your trip and the photos are gorgeous. Here’s Deana the cat coming over for a pat. She’s beautiful. Well, my week was interesting but not worrisome, so that’s good. Thanks for the chance to meet Blue Madame and her friends and I look forward to dropping by agian.
