A Prayer

Death came out of  the sky.

Those left  behind can only  ask why.

Their loved ones  snatched  so cruelly  from them

They were just innocent souls not yet ready for heaven.

May  the good lord take these souls and give  them peace.

May  their loved ones  be given answers and release.

May  their  murders be brought  to book, named  and shamed

May  this please stop now, may  the like of  this not be  seen again.

I listened to the Infinite Monkey Cage on Radio 4 the other day, and they analysed (in part jokey fashion) the characteristics that are solely found in man, and not in the rest of the animal kingdom. They concluded that the one defining characteristic is spite. The tit for tat, they need to be the new playground bully. That seems borne out by this egregious event. You’re wish is that of all of us, Willow (and beautifully phrased), but if above is true then a lot more unnecessary tragedies will occur before we embed civilisation at more that skin depth.

Thank you I felt the need to mark it. To give them the respect. The respect they do not seem to be receiving. Strewn across scorched fields their belongings being looted… Sorry perhaps I said too much.Be well and happy. x
