IF WE WERE HAVING COFFEE

If we  were having  coffee: I would  offer  you a comfy seat  in the garden  and  then  tell you  how  we had  been  bought  a  Meercat  solar garden  light .

Mickov the bringer of light

Mickov the bringer of light

We  have called  him Mickov the bringer of light. I have  a friend  who has  had a  dreadful  year  she had  a nightmare  settlement  to sort  out  with her  ex-husband. Which  could  of  left  her homeless  after  paying  the mortgage  in all but  but name for  years  and  bringing  up  two daughters  single  handed. We  helped  her  to emerge  with a  roof  over  her  head  and  her  nerves  intact.  She, though  we did not  expect   it,  bought up  this cute  little guy!

He  looks amazing  by  night  and  so  cute  by  day  too!

Mickov by day.

If we  were having  coffee: I would  tell you how  well our  tomatoes  are  doing,  this  is  the second  year  crop  of Italian Beef  tomatoes. The  year  before  last  we were  given  the seeds by our  lovely  holiday  hosts. Last year  we had  an amazing  crop of  splendid  Beef  Tomatoes.  We used  them in  salads  and gave  loads  away  then my  husband  hit on the brilliant  idea  of  making pickles! So this  years  crop  are  from the seeds  of  the year  before’s  crop. It  is  lovely  to watch  them growing  !

This year's new crop

As  you can see the  tomatoes  are  doing well!

If we were having coffee: I would  tell you  how  disappointed  we have been with our Pansies this year . Usually  we have a fantastic  show of all colours  but sadly  this  year they have  been remarkable  poor! For  some reason  they  just  have not  thrived  this  year  which  is a shame.

If we were having coffee: I would  tell you that  I am so pleased  with all the  new  bushes  we planted  last  year  to fill in the garden , hide  the walls  and give us the cottage garden look!  I have  found  that  putting in  bedding  plants  year  after  year is expensive and honestly  useless. The  snails  and  slugs  have a fieldday  feeding off of  them  and then after  the season  they  need replacing ! So  we decided  ( hubby  and I) to put in  bushes and shrubs.

If we were having Coffee: I would  tell you  how  lovely  the Honneysuckle  and  the White Rose tree  are looking  and how the  Day Lillies  have  been spectacular. It is  all  coming  together  at  long last . The  little  rockery  feature  is looking good  this  year  with the Alpines  and  the mirrors  and  the pebbles  too.

If we were having Coffee: I would  tell you how  we have worked very hard  to get the garden looking  how  we would like it. How  when the children were small we used  to have a running battle  with balls and bats and young lads  running round flattening our  flower beds. Thank fully  they are all grown  now  and  our garden at  last  stands a chance!

If we were having  coffee I would tell  it has taken us  over 25yrs  to  get this garden this far!

It  is  not  our  first  garden  we have in fact we have had  three gardens  to tend  before this one!

If we were having coffee: I would  ask  you what do you think of  the potato patch. This will be our  third  year  of home grown potatoes.  I would  tell you how really  different  and better home grown potatoes taste.

If we were having coffee : I would say  what fantastic  weather  we have  been  having these last few days.

I would say  how lovely  the Holly Bush  is looking  now it has  been shaped. Also we are  very pleased  with the box pyramid bushes  we have in pots on the patio , they are looking really  neat! I would  tell you that I really  need to spend  more time out  there!

If we were having Coffee: I would tell you I was feeling  a tad stressed out when I started  this  post  but  now I am feeling  much calmer!

How about  you join in now  and share what  you would tell me If we were having coffee.  The idea  for these coffee posts  come from Part  time Monster
