The urge to fly free was always there
Escape the planet fair and square.
Above the day’s bump and grind
Forget the pain, unwind.
Slash the tethers tight
All hope set flight.
Your soul’s blood
In mud
Ground.

I couldn’t get the video – must not be available in Canada. The poem and illustration were awesome.Women always have felt to me like they are light and “float” and just brush the ground. That inspires awe in me for I feel like i’m often grappling in the mud. Thomas Hardy wrote an exquisite description of this in “Far From the Maddening Crowd”. Great work Willow. Thank you.

This is beautiful. A lot of attempted flying going on today between the blogs. I’m going to attempt not to stay grounded. Thanks, Willow! 🙂

Fantastic music choice from my favourite band to accompany the pic and your words. Anything to do with flight enthrals me. You captured that sense of earthbound frustration in the second line for me.

I couldn’t get the video either.
I feel that tug and yank to be free and the sensation of being tethered.
