The captive soul

For years it fought against it’s thether

Yet the harder it fought the more it would wither.

It  caused itself so much pain,

Yearning for a freedom it never could gain.

Finally exhausted it decided one day

To no longer try to break away.

It decided that it should be what it should be.

So the soul stopped fighting, relaxed. Immediately it was set free.

Yeah, as soon as the fighting stops, this is exactly what happens.

It takes a long time, for sure, but according ot the Serenity prayer, there are times one should never accept reality. And. for me, the truth lies in the existence of a soul and a higher power – something that many do not agree with.

Very beautiful! Could be about a butterfly or the mind having more resources than we might imagine! A great poem about being set free…

Thank you for your kind words. The poem is about how we allow our souls to become trapped. Not realizing that we only have to accept out lot to br set free.

    I am awestruck. Wow!
The co-ordinating picture gives this that extra punch. Wonderful. Wonderful.

Oh don’t worry, my dear. He died in 200BC. People have pretty much forgotten about him at this point. (said just as tongue in cheek) hehe
The point is, it takes a wise soul to understand such things. So good for you. 🙂
