Okay it is ” Embers of Love ” but it is pronounced Decembers of love!
In unity with LindaGHill and her new friend Dylan Dailey, I am going to attempt to write a blog post every day in December.
It’s not going to be easy, what with Christmas coming and having the family to take care of, but what the heck.
If I can make it through NaBloPoMo, why not EvDaDaDec?
Who else is with me?

Let’s do this thing!
Beatles Revolution
Well what a Revolution they started with their music. A big revolution indeed!
Revolution Rock the Clash
The Clash were an English punk rock band that formed in 1976 as part of the original wave of British punk. Along with punk, their music incorporated elements of reggae, dub, funk, and rockabilly. For most of their recording career, the Clash consisted of Joe Strummer (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Mick Jones (lead guitar, vocals), Paul Simonon (bass guitar, vocals) and Nicky “Topper” Headon (drums, percussion). Headon left the group in 1982, and internal friction led to Jones’ departure the following year. The group continued with new members, but finally disbanded in early 1986.
TV series Citenzen Smith
Citizen Smith is a British television sitcom. The show was written by John Sullivan, who later wrote Only Fools and Horses. The pilot was transmitted on 12 April 1977 in the Comedy Special series of one-off plays, and the series proper ran from 3 November 1977 to 31 December 1980. Citizen Smith starred Robert Lindsay as “Wolfie” Smith, a young Marxist[1][2] “urban guerrilla” living inTooting, South London, who is attempting to emulate his hero Che Guevara. ‘Wolfie’ is a reference to the Irish revolutionary Wolfe Tone who used the pseudonym Citizen Smith in order to evade capture by the English. Wolfie is the self-proclaimed leader of the revolutionary Tooting Popular Front (the TPF, merely a small bunch of his friends), the goals of which are “Power to the People” and “Freedom for Tooting”. In reality, he is an unemployed dreamer and petty criminal whose plans fall through because of laziness and disorganisation.
Niel Young Revolution Blues
Neil Young encountered Charles Manson when he was a “player” in the California music scene. After Manson and his “Family” committed their awful crime, Neil wrote “Revolution Blues.” The line, “10 million dune buggies” is a reference to Manson’s plan to assemble ample forces in the Mojave desert to carry our his race war. Young describes Charles Manson as not so much of a song-writer as a “song-spewer.” But he remembers actually telling record executive Mo Ostin, “This guy, he’s good. He’s just a little out of control.” Maybe not such a good judge of character, then?
Young was particularly impressed with Manson’s musical ability. In a 1985 interview with NME, he said, “I can see these things in other people. You can see it and feel it. Manson would sing a song and just make it up as he went along, for three or four minutes, and he never would repeat one word, and it all made perfect sense and it shook you up to listen to it. It was so good that it scared you.” Learn more here

Lost Horizon 1973 – The World Is A Circle – Liv Ullman – Bobby Van
OH! one of my favourite films,
Lost Horizon is a 1973 American musical film directed by Charles Jarrott and starring Peter Finch, John Gielgud, Liv Ullmann,Michael York, Sally Kellerman, Bobby Van, George Kennedy, Olivia Hussey, James Shigeta and Charles Boyer.
The film is a remake of Frank Capra‘s film of the same name, with a screenplay by Larry Kramer. Both the 1937 version and this one adapted their story from James Hilton‘s novel Lost Horizon.
This was the final film produced by Ross Hunter.

Beach Boys Round Round I get around!
“I Get Around” is a song written by Brian Wilson and Mike Love for The Beach Boys. The song features Love on lead vocal for the verse, and Wilson for the chorus. It is noteworthy for its back-to-front structure—it starts with a chorus and has two short verses. It was a single which was released in 1964 through Capitol Records; the B-side of the single was “Don’t Worry Baby“, which itself charted at number 24 in the United States. “I Get Around” was The Beach Boys’ first number-one hit song in the United States. The single charted at number seven in the United Kingdom, and was the band’s first top ten single there. The song’s first album release was on All Summer Long in 1964. The band performed I Get Around as well as Wendy on the Ed Sullivan Show on September 27, 1964. learn more here
The Byrds Turn Turn
“Turn! Turn! Turn! (to Everything There Is a Season)“, often abbreviated to “Turn! Turn! Turn!“, is a song written by Pete Seeger in the late 1950s. The lyrics were adapted almost entirely from verses in the Book of Ecclesiastes, set to music and recorded in 1962. The song was originally released as “To Everything There Is a Season” on The Limeliters‘ album Folk Matineeand then some months later on Seeger’s own The Bitter and the Sweet.[1]
The song became an international hit in late 1965 when it was covered by the American folk rock band The Byrds, reaching #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and #26 on the UK Singles Chart. learn more here
