Silly Poem

The elusive  cowbird was full of herself importance,

Sitting on the branch of the willowy tree

Squandering her time trilling a rodomtade

Of her life with a sweet melody.

Upwind on the beach struggling through the seaweed

The quahog, felt his ears burn for the cowbird was singing his song.

The words were an echo of past time and a fair deed

Unlike today where everything is so painfully wrong.

The beach started bouncing, what could it mean

It was the dunderhead cyclops stomping on to the scene.

Up in the gutter of a nearby beach hut the mercurial Owl was lurking.

He had his eye on quahog for lunch but the cyclops that way was lurching.

So grabbing some truffles he had saved from his   petit déjeuner

He laid a trail of them and some salt to lure the cyclops away.

I don’t know about you  but I am growing tired of this troublesome trail

There is not a ghost of a hope that it will ever make an interesting tale.

So lets say farewell to  this unlikely crew

Lets all go and find something better to do!
