Sea Shanty NaPoWriMo

Day 3   NaPoWriMo   prompt Sea Shantey

Don’t have beans for tea.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Set out in the morning and the wind was blowing
Might of been the weather or the baked beans no way of knowing
Captains  in a  mood his face is red and glowing
He lost the compass and no one know where we’re going!
Damn the Captains moaning!
Out on the roaring forties playing at pirates, making sorties
Running  up  mast  that’s the life before you hit your forties
But don’t have beans for tea, tea.
Let’s have cuppa shouted the first mate,
And some biscuits  on a  bone china plate ,plate
I did my best and put on a tray, tray
Slipped  on the deck and watched it get  washed away, way.
Damn the Captains moaning!
Out on the roaring forties playing at pirates, making sorties
Running  up  mast  that’s the life before you hit your forties
But don’t have beans for tea tea.
Sewing up the up the sails but I used the wrong thread
Skipper told me if the captain sees I’ll be dead, dead
The he took of his wooden leg and whacked me round the head,
I didn’t think that was fair so I said , said.
Damn the Captains moaning!
Out on the roaring forties playing at pirates, making sorties
Running  up  mast  that’s the life before you hit your forties
But don’t have beans for tea tea.
Up in the crow’s nest and it’s raining
Bandage on me head but it’s still paining
Looking for the moon but it a waning
Suddenly feel sick so look out down below……OH!
Damn the Captains moaning!
Out on the roaring forties playing at pirates, making sorties
Running  up  mast  that’s the life before you hit your forties
But don’t have beans for tea tea.
.
Banging the ship’s biscuits to get out the weevils
First mate’s got a cob on and he’s giving me the evils
Got to make a meal, only got baked beans  and seashells
Thank goodness  we will’ll all be sick because of the sea swells
Damn the Captains moaning!
    *giggles* Wow, lucky you! I can’t write lyrics to save my life, especially funny ones! Wish I had the talent to put music to it, I’d ask if I could sing it at fairs! *hugs*
      That was my first attempt glad you liked it … I wrote it with the tune of “What shall we do with a Drunken Sailor” in my head. You can try it to that tune. :).
    Wow, this is your work? I’m impressed and envious of the way you string words together poetically.
