Can You

NaPoWriMo

The prompt write a poem that has the same first line as another poem.  The poem I chose is ” When, Like a Running Grave ” by Dylan Thomas

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Can You
When, like a running grave, time tracks you down,
Do you  accept the challenge will you  run with the torch.
Will you  escape along the streets and the avenues of this town.
Waving like a victor garlanded and smiling to each sweetheart on her front porch.
Will you out run the pain , the disappointment and the tick of time.
Can  you ascend to heights not yet dreamed off.
Can you run faster than the wind and destroy the ordinary line.
Yet not give in to the drudgery of  life and love.
Can you, can you or will time you entrap
Then bury you with toil under deaths relentless track.
FIRSTLY A HUGE THANK YOU TO SHAUN FOR AWARDING ME THIS LOVELY AWARD.
A few words about Shaun a lovely Scottish family man who suffers with Chronic Pain Syndrome.  He is working at lowering his tablet  intake while being husband father and son to his family. Shaun is always ready to chat or discuss any subject. His blogs are always informative and interesting and never self pitying. He is as far as I am concerned a Very Influential Blogger.
