NaPoWriMo, Day 30. Death Again, Birth No More

http://en.blog.files.wordpress.com

NapoWriMo Day30.  Today’s prompt is to  find a shortish poem that you like, and rewrite each line, replacing each word (or as many words as you can) with words that mean the opposite. For example, you might turn “Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day?” to “I won’t contrast you with a winter’s night.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I chose a poem on death by Mark R Slaughter, his name and the name of the poem intrigued .
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

It’s Death Again

http://i911.photobucket.com/

It’s Death again – He’s always there –
Watching, waiting – e’er the stare!
Every time I look behind
Or reach to pull the window blind,
I catch a glimpse of grubby hood –
A little clue to where he stood;
The glint of light that caught the scythe.
Perhaps if I could pay a tithe…
But O! no use, he’ll never go.
The adamant phantom; don’t you know
He will but wait until it’s time
For me to hear His fateful chime? –
The toll that claims my destiny,
To Hail: ‘You’re next, it has to be…’

Birth No More

http://i1109.photobucket.com/

It is not birth firstly – she is never here

Not looking or waiting – no  not even looking

Never do I look back

Or do not reach to push the wall, seeing

I let go no sight of a clean head

A huge clue to where he fled

The dull of darkness that let fall the scythe

Maybe not, I could charge a tithe

But O! Such use she will always stay

The unsure person we all know

She will not wait until it is late

For you to not hear her nondescript murmur

The silence that doesn’t claim my past

To not say,  “your not next , it doesn’t need to be”

NaPoWriMo, Day 29 Lidosta Kafejnīca

http://en.blog.files.wordpress.com/

NaPoWriMo : Day 29, today’s prompt is to try writing poems that contain at least five words in other languages. You could perhaps write a poem that takes place in a foreign country.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lidosta Kafejnīca
http://www.carjet.com/
The sound is deafening, people talking , all  around
Hola, Hola mamá quiero volver a casa said the young girl with a frown.
On the next table the young couple looking worn out and tired
HZere je vám káva , they are struggling with paperwork for the car they have hired
नमस्ते और आपका स्वागत है Wann wird unser Flugzeug gerufen
Such a tower of Babel, all these people here sitting at  these tables.
What a beautiful babble seems to arise from all these people waiting to take to the skies.
Going home, to family and those they love , new jobs new paths, futures in fact their lives
NaPoWriMo,Day28,BLUE, GOLD.
http://en.blog.files.wordpress.com/
NaPoWriMo Day 28 : Today’s prompt is to pick a color. How many synonyms are there for your color (e.g., green, chartreuse, olive, veridian)? Is your color associated with a specific mood (e.g., red = passion, rage, blue = hope, truth). Look around the room, take a walk — note everything you see that is your chosen color.
I have chosen to chose two colours, Blue and Yellow/Gold, first poem is Blue and the second shorter poem is Gold.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Blue

http://www.mrwallpaper.com/

Tears burn in these eyes so blue,

Like the azure sky , and deep, deep sea

That separates a sad me from you.

My soul strains to escape and to you flee.

The royal blue of my lustrous gown

Dark and stark lit by creamy pearls

Oh! in each other we felt that we would drown

You remove my hood and watched my hair as  it unfurls.

Apart now with miles between us I stand alone

My heart is broken and I am so blue

I remember watching  as off into the blue you had flown

I search the midnight skies in vein hope of sight of you

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Gold
http://images.colourbox.com/
Gold, warm  and glorious we run hand in hand
Feet skipping , daring not to linger too long on the hot golden sand
Sunshine yellow and  red flimsy bikini rocks
Sun hats covering tender pink skin and fair blonde locks.
Golden sun kissed skin , tall and dark eyes sparkling
Warm,shimmering ,glinting golden yellow horizon!
NaPoWriMo Day 27,A Cat May& Many Hands Make
http://en.blog.files.wordpress.com/
NaPoWriMo Day 27 : Today’s prompt is  to use the wondrous powers of the Internet to help you write, and I have a particular method in mind. Think of a common proverb or phrase — something like “All that glitters is not gold,” or “If wishes were horses, beggars would ride.” Then plug the first three words of the phrase into a search engine. Skim through the first few pages of results, collecting (rather like a poetic magpie) words and phrases that interest you. Then use those words and phrases as the inspirations (and some of the source material) for a new poem.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

A Cat May (Warning)

http://img3.etsystatic.com/

A cat may, that is what everyone says

Owning a cat may shorten your days

Toxoplasma gondii parasite

Insidious, unseen, malicious and quiet

Excreted escaping hoping to invade

Depressing the nerves with an unhappy parade

A cat may without any thoughts of harm

Can infest your blood and remove life’s charm.

In muscles and brain hides the  nasty nasty little parasites

They will push you , and push you to take your life.

So a beautiful cat may look at a king

But everyone in the castle should be aware what he is hiding within.

Many hands make Fractals Tactile

http://www.iesbuckeye.com/

Many Hands make Fractals Tactile.

That’s sounds so hopeful it makes you smile.

Many hands clear the deck especially in the sun

The more of us together makes us more inclined to fun.

Many hands all wearing rings with diamonds will catch the light

The more of us there are, the sooner the job gets done right.

The more hands lifted to the sky reaching far reaching high

So remember Many Hands make Fractals Tactile and your heart fly.

NaPoWriMo, Day 25. I give up

http://en.blog.files.wordpress.com/

NaPoWriMo Day 26 : I refuse to even attempt to explain today’s prompt. But I did write a poem about it!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I Give up!
https://encrypted-tbn2.gstatic.com/
Okay I can’t do it you finally have me beat
I cannot do today’s prompt, you have me in defeat.
I hummed and I have harred  but my mind has turned to lard!
I spent an hour or two working on “The night they took the news from Aix to Ghent.”
I tried to erase the in fact I shortened it  a lot  but it was not good enough and my patience was spent.
So there it is you have it, I have done my very best. Sadly you have got me banged to rights.
I have given you my all and followed your every prompt through all these April nights.
So Aix to Ghent three riders went. Two f them had their horses keel over
The third one got to Ghent God knows why he went , but when he arrived his horse did keel over!
So though I am not happy, in fact I am feeling very crappy I have to write an entry
Because I love a challenge , which I have answered all month so it’s elementary
Because  I cannot  do today’s erasure challenge, you finally have me beat
I cannot do today’s prompt,I am weeping loudly for  you have me in defeat.
NaPoWriMo, Day 25, Ballard Of Helmand
http://en.blog.files.wordpress.com/
NaPoWriMo. Day 25. Today’s prompt is to write a Ballard. I have written one about war because that is what a lot of Ballard’s are about
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

THE BALLARD OF HELMAND

http://i.dailymail.co.uk/

They all flew into Helmand  with sunshine in their eyes

Ready for the heat and smells but they did not expect the flies.

Their new kits at the ready, their rifles virgin new

A newly striped Sergeant  ready to tell them what to do.

Oh! keep your heads down boys look for those I.E.D.s

Remember what we said, keep your eyes peeled please

They were settled into barracks and found out were to eat

Bottled water came in handy and mum’s sun lotion worked a treat.

They were all excited when ready for their first patrol

All of them on  on edge not sure what would unfold

Oh! keep your heads down boys look for those I.E.D.s

Remember what we said, keep your eyes peeled please

http://news.bbc.co.uk/media/

They all set off together with everything intact

But almost at once,they heard the bang and felt the impact.

They realized they were not safe, no one out here was their friend

Out on their first patrol, two dead, and in the handlers arms, his loyal dog’s life ends.

Oh! keep your heads down boys look for those I.E.D.s

Remember what we said, keep your eyes peeled please

They all fly into Brize Norton their families watch the skies

Brothers , sisters,mothers, wives and children all with tears in their eyes.

They all left for Helmand shiny bright and new

That’s not how they return though you all know that is true

Oh! keep your heads down boys look for those I.E.D.s

Remember what we said, keep your eyes peeled please

NaPoWriMo Day 24 Healer Willows Twirls

http://en.blog.files.wordpress.com/

NaPoWriMo: Day 24. Today’s prompt is to think about words buried in words. In particular, think about the words buried in your own name. Plug your name into an anagram generator, like this one, and try writing a self-portrait poem using words that are generated

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Healer Willows Twirls
Whitewalls roll and swirl as willow heals
Will she ever escape from how it is that others feel.
Lashes, slashes and wheals she hides them all from view
The stairwell whore  throws out swill she knows what to do.
http://fc07.deviantart.net/
Whitewalls  roll and swirl as willow heals
In the stairwell  the whore wills away her skills.
Wishing things better never, never makes things so
Willow is a healer, but she cannot heal willow
Whitewalls  roll and swirl as willow heals
Ills twirl  and swirl and woes beset the healer
Weeping  softly in the stairwell no cares how the whore  feels
Sills  and twills the drowning healer willow the whore of the stairwell.
NaPoWriMo, A Trio of Triolets
NaPoWriMo Day 23: Today’s  prompt is to write  a triolet, which is an eight-line poem. All the lines are in iambic tetramenter (for a total of eight syllables per line), and the first, fourth, and seventh lines are identical, as are the second and final lines.  So I have attempted three separate Triolets, one Coffee is a rearrangement of one I had written a while back . Stupid and Eggshells are both new…… here goes then.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Stupid

http://designmind.frogdesign.com/

Why am I  stupid  I want to know

Why do I make his danger signals glow

Whatever I try makes him angry   so …..

Why am I so stupid I want to know

Why is it I always set his danger signals aglow.

Why am I  stupid  I want to know

Why do I make his danger signals glow

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Coffee
http://www.topnews.in/files/
I do  love my cup of coffee
Especially when it’s hot and frothy
Not for me Vanilla or toffee for
I do love my cup of coffee
But it must be hot and frothy for
I do  love my cup of coffee
Especially when it’s hot and frothy
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Eggshells

http://images.fineartamerica.com/

I walk on eggshells all my life

Trying to be the perfect wife

Heading off all  trouble and strife

I walk on eggshells all my life

Shall I ever be the perfect wife

I walk on eggshells all my life

Trying to be the perfect wife

NaPoWriMo Day 22 Nature’s Curse

http://en.blog.files.wordpress.com/

NaPoWriMo Day 22 : Today’s pompt is  to write a poem in keeping with Earth Day!!

http://www.yogaflavoredlife.com/

Coat us gently in your breath mother nature,

dress us in your warp and weft!

Love us all, your children dear,

though we all have hurt you and brought you many a tear.

We have pained you brought you low,

stabbed you yet you love us still and will not let go.

We, all issue from your womb,

treat you bad and stripped you bare and kill your blooms.

We have raped you daily, and burned your soul

exposed your softest parts to all who make your gifts their greedy goal.

Taken, taken is all we have done we never spared a thought

of how we should repay you for all that you have done.

We leave you bleeding arms outstretched we rip from you all we can get.

Never never do we spare  a thought for all the torture that on you we have wrought!

Somehow like a mother you love us and bless us and encourage us to fly.

Yet how do we repay you, we rip out your guts and leave you to die.

Mother, mother be patient yet we need all to learn from you for you know more then we shall ever forget!

Sometimes your anger you unleash on our selfish heads,

you rip up crops and smash our towns and pee on us till the rivers overflow their beds!

You pull back the oceans in the mist of mighty storms

then hurl it back at us killing many destroying all in your path

we stand open mouthed at the aftermath.

You show us how strong you are,

you could destroy us all it is within your power.

But you love us like a mother dear

and you lets us stay though we do not deserve you and that is crystal clear!

NaPoWriMo Day 21 Fortune Cookies

http://en.blog.files.wordpress.com/

NaPoWriMo: Day 21. Today prompt is to write some fortune cookie rhymes !……. eek!!

_____________________________________________________________

Time is a thief it steals your youth , your looks and often your belief.

The sun shines on the righteous so put up you umbrella.

Lost is the the ship that ignores the light, it will founder on the reef.

Mr right will come soon  so make sure you get the right fella.

If you like walking a dog take the lead.

Stars come out at night because they can’t out dazzle the sun.

Life is a tapestry so be careful not to drop too many stitches.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The cookie told me my luck was just about to change
I thanked God for that because,  things round here were really mighty strange.
Really it could not get much worse I was beginning to think I had  been cursed
I’d lost my job, and what was worse  the damn  car was stuck in reverse.
My friends knew I was really sad, so they took  me out for a Chinese  meal
Hoping to improve my lot, they hoped a meal would change  the way I feel.
Sadly for all their effort and kindness I can clearly say it did not.
No, not even the cookie’s message helped , my luck did not improve a jot!
