It’s a Bump!
It is so easy when they are in your tums
showing off your latests phones to impress your chums.
You have no idea of the traumas that are about to come!
Look at you , looking so cool in the latest designer gear “innit”
with ya phone and ya cigarettes and your dreams in tatters
You don’t know the first thing about baby matters.
It is all so easy when they are still inside, you feel cool among your friends it makes you different gives you a sense of pride. Mind you it does get a tad scary when you wake in the night on your own with no where to hide.
Go on dreaming of your smart new pushchair with it’s central handle and three wheel drive and your new smart phone on which you so rely.
How ya gonna cope when the pains come, and you truly believe an alien is trying to rip it’s way out of ya tum? Where will your friends be then? You will be on your own maybe just a midwife or if you lucky your Mum to hear you groan.
It is okay posing with your friends but what is going to happen when the day ends.
You all say goodbye then they are all gone, you all have to get on with lives and cope with your babies on your own.
Not so bling , not so fun , no so Gucci is it Hun? All they do is feed and pooh and if they need changing or soothing it is all down to you. It is hard to keep the school work up to date, and sometimes Mum and Dad don’t want to know and some of you get left to your own fate.
Some of you have to struggle on your own
no one to help for whatever reason you could not stay at home.
Some of you will marry your teen-aged bow but he will not have the skills
for a good job so, you both will struggle and you will row . Suddenly it does not
feel cool to be a teen-aged mum now.
Some of you will have to give up the chance of the career you yearned for
too busy looking after your babe, up to eyes in washing you cry behind your door.
So all I can say to you is that it is not all fun, it is hard and not glitzy to be a mum. You can forget your dreams of being a model or a pop star and you will be far too busy to get a top notch career to go very far.
So think about this and and don’t rush into mother hood if you are using it to be noticed or to escape . It is not big it is not right to have a bump as a badge a baby is not for show a baby is for life.
