THE LONG ROAD

It is a long road stretching out until dawn and I am trudging this road from dusk until morn.

It is a straight road with a steep drop to the side, you can see for miles both far and wide.

It is a cold road as I travel on never knowing where I am going or where I am from.

Heading on towards the dawn towards the sunrise and the morn. I do not know what is in store I only know that I want more.

Stand here just before the sun decides to rise and lighten up the now grey skies. I see the early birds in flight as they bid farewell to the night.

I close my eyes and breath in the fresh cold air, my bare feet pound this road to who knows where. I am lost and fearful help me, find me,  have a care.
