Red Kites

Clear  blue sky, flying high.Riding thermals in the blue. Blink my eyes not one but two.

At the end of my walk there they were a stunning pair. What secrets do they keep, where do they  eat where do they sleep.

One of Gods fine creations one newly returned to our part of the nation.

Red Kites flying high how I wish like you I could spread my wings and fly!

Thank you Art I have never heard these Kites make a noise but they are such an amazing sight that I always stop to watch them. They were extinct here but recently they were re introduced to this area and now they are a happy addition to our wild life!!

I once visited a farm in Wales, where they feed the Red Kites every day at the same time. Imagine hundreds of beautiful Red Kites wheeling around in front of your eyes, vying with the Crows for the raw meat that’s laid out for them. Incredible sight 🙂

Well, among the things they eat are small mammals, carrion, large insects and leftover pub lunches. However, consider what we eat! They are truly magnificent birds. This year I’ve seen them in Pembrokeshire, Berkshire and Suffolk.
