Lilies in Blue

Lilies lit in blue

Angels guarding from up above       tender light fragile lilies blue  dustmotes dancing in light shafts.

Peace and tranquillity hushed tones. Wooden pews and foot warn stones. Gentle blue light shards and fractals woven tight into an overview.

Sitting still I see down the years peasants, knights, triumphant joys and dreadful fears. Through the centuries as many a war wages men have come here to pray and take up your book and read the pages.

Lilies of the month of May in Holy Mother Mary’s parade. Gentle Mary dressed in blue decked out in every flower from the forest’s glade, all our hopes are pinned to you.

Holy Mary mother of God your gentle smile leads the way we wee girls follow spreading Lilies and singing sweet Aves .

So many memories down through the years my fathers stories to soothes away my tears. In loving memory of his tender care these simple Lilies remind me of him when he was here.Beautiful Lilies of the Valley grow best when free respect all flowers my father said to me. But remember now what ever you do the simple Lilies are the favourite of the beloved Mary dressed in blue.

Now if I see a May parade of the catholic type I see Mary born aloft and as she passes by I see through all the hype. The little children leave the road with flowers strewn. I pick some up and there is my father next to me on a sunny afternoon.

God Bless you Dad

“In loving memory of his tender care these simple Lilies remind me of him when he was here.”, I have always felt that the Rose connects me to my mother. A beautifully written work, Willow. But my heart was so touched, also by the image of the beloved Mary in blue. There is a remarkable statue of her in the Church of the Holy Seplechure in Jerusalem. Once seen and felt, heart is altered. I felt my mother there as well. Such nourishing Love rushes in to the heart.

The virgin Maryalso loved roses and is often painted holding them or standing by them. Thank you for your kind words. XX

I love lilies of the valley too. Only yesterday, I was clearing the weeds grown over the last month around them. It’s been so wet and cold, I had no chance to do any gardening. Now that the true beauty of May has arrived, I love nothing best than tending my flowers.

Your dad is so proud, you know! This poem made me feel as though I was kneeling in Notre Dame Cathedreal with fleur de lis all around in the Mary Chapel!
