What Happened

Were have my young days gone when did they fly away. When did my youth depart and I became the woman I am today. What happened to my mistakes how come they have hung around the cunning little things have grown roots and now surround me on the ground.

All my dreams flutter around above my head they all look tired now some struggling and some are already dead. Once they were like flowers blooming in techicolourย  now they are more monochrome and fading by the hour.

My looks are not the same now. who is that in the mirror who ever she is she looks just like my mother. Her figure is not quite right good job she has got it covered!! What happened to all my friends which way did they go. We really had some high times then why they have all cleared off and left me here I do not know.

Look at me I am in bits just like a mosaic picture.Nothing is the same nothing is quite right the days are long and lonelyย  but better then the nights.

I do not see my babies, well of course they are all grown they are all so very busy now but I am so grateful when they come visit home.

Were have my young days gone when did they fly away. When did my youth depart and I became the woman I am today. What happened to my mistakes how come they have hung around the cunning little things have grown roots and now surround me on the ground.

This may sound useless coming from a sixteen year old, but youth only leaves if you let it! Embrace life and all it has to offer and you will never truly grow old!

Life is all about change and in order to survive and be happy we must accept this. When we are children, we can never see ourselves as teenagers or grown-ups with a spouse, our own house and children, etc – let alone grandchildren. We must embrace each change as it happens and make the most of it.

My son is grown up now and doesn’t want to travel with us any more, so it’s back to my husband and I and the dog. Perhaps you have friends to share special times with. Enjoy the moment, whatever it might be and wherever it might happen.

    Seize the day!!!

Thank you so much for your lovely kind words. All you say is true. I have a husband and three sons all grown and flown so I have seen life without, with and now without children again! I had a life changing accident three years ago which has meant changes in my life. I miss my job or rather the people there, but I have accepted my life as it is now. But being human I have the occasional “off black days”. It was on one of those days I wrote this poem. As my dad used to say better out than in! ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ˜€ xx

The mistakes we made can only grow and twine around us is we water and feed them, you know. This is a most evocative post of the way so many of us ladies with grown children can feel, especially after they have gone away again after a visit!

the seed sprouts… the sprout grows and a tree rises, as it dances in the wind, roots spread and strengthen only time is limited, and the fires consume that which once was… such is life, accept it and enjoy what is… it is what it is! (~_~)
