This is a poem on child abuse I wrote last December . I am reblogging it because I am trying to honour Child Abuse Month before it ends sadly I only found out about Child Abuse Month on tuesday,
What do you see in this little girl here, I see tears and pain and loneliness and a lot of fear.

She looks so lost and so very sad nothing in her little life could be so bad? OH! Yes it is though you’d never of guessed her bruises don’t show they are hidden by the way she is dressed.
Who hurts this little one who treats her so. Someone in her family? surely no . Her Mummy and Daddy they say she is bad, that she never learns and it is always her fault for the beatings she’s had.

I SO honor your wish to highlight Child Abuse Awareness Month! I completely support efforts through my local church women to furnish four new units (undisclosed locations) for women and children who are victims of domestic violence.

I think that part of the reason that this, and other incredibly bad things happen is because of indifference… it isn’t happening to me, so I won’t get involved. Years ago, I taught woman who might find themselves a victim of assault, to yell “fire”, instead of “rape”, ot “help”. Rape or help serves only to ensure an audience; as there is no danger to anyone else, no one will care. “Fire” on the other hand gives the distinct impression that something bad is happening, is a threat to all, so people will get their butts out to see what is going on. It is similar to Dean’s post about Hitler and Stalin… people suffer because of other’s indifference.

Yes as Edmond Burke said. The only thing evil needs to do to overcome is for good men to do nothing. I’m sad to agree with you that with you no one cares people are only interested in themselves. That said thank you for caring. Xx
