Standing in the foothills of tomorrow eternity my only friend one foot in the future the other in the nether end.
Sunset finds me chilled and lost without my coat. I can see into the future clearly but the present is nipping at my throat.
Everyone I know is gone now they ran toward the light leaving me lost and lonely surrounded by endless night.
Gravel under my feet ripping at my skin I’d like to make it to the fountain of youth and dip my toes right in.
The wind is whipping up my hair and whistling in my ears. If I had a silent tissue I would wipe away my tears.
The sky turning golden and all the birds have taken flight. I really have no choice left but to stand and face the night.I do not know what awaits me but it will not be good I am sure. Freezing, tired and lonely on eternity’s shore.

You are never alone on eternity’s shore–as you know all too well, Queen of Crows! But I do think this post most heartrending in the beautiful way in which you picture this type of desolation of mind, body, and spirit!

Thank you granbee you are a great help as ever, but even my crows will not be able to help me when I have to pass over….. But I hope that I shall not be taking that step any time soon!! XX

True, Willow, you are never alone!

That is a comfort but that last step has to be taken alone. Mind you I am hoping not to have to take it any time soon!

The past, the future, and the present haunt us everyday. The knowledge that everyone dies alone, even if in a crowded room is scary indeed. It is hard to imagine not living.

Sometimes, being alone physically is very good… time to think, reflect, relax. When trials and tribulations present themselves, know that He only gives you what you can handle, and the reassurance that things will be better. We have to have a wrench thrown in the works now and again so we remember how good it feels when things are right. 🙂

Yes you are so right you need to cope with the bad to appreciate the good. The poem is actually about that point when you are about to shuffle off this mortal coil!! Hopefully an action I do not intent to take for a good while yet! Thanks for your timely words!! 😀 xx
