I picked you some Flowers

I picked for you some flowers I bought them to your door. I picked for you some flowers but your mummy said you were not here any more.

Where you had gone to she would not say ,when I asked where I could find you she brushed a tear away.

Why was your mummy crying why did she look so sad, so I forgot to give  her your flowers I do hope you won’t be mad.

I picked them by the stream where we are not meant to go, I did not ask my mummy for I knew she would say no!

I knew they took you to hospital we all saw the ambulance the other day, we all got so excited but then you see we did not think you’d stay……….. away.

I saw your dad out walking Kenyo yesterday I asked how you were and like your mummy he would not say.

Kenyo was not bouncing and your dad looked sad, I wish I had not spoke to him his sad eyes made me feel bad.

Every one misses you, well none as much as me. I am lonely as I have your empty seat at school right next to me.

I asked my mum would she take me to see you , I asked if I could bake a cake and bring that with us too.

She made lots of excuses as to why we could not go , and I got very angry because I wanted to!!  and I miss you so!

Mum said I am not to bother your mum and dad and that you would not be coming back. She would not tell why and that made me so very sad.

I asked why you had gone and why you’d not return. I was met with silence and sad looks which made me cry till my eyes burned.

I picked for you some flowers I bought them to your door. I picked for you some flowers but your mummy said you were not here any more.

Where you had gone to she would not say ,when I asked where I could find you she brushed a tear away.

Ships with Souls

It was quiet out there the ships all answered my call to arms. It was all still suddenly life had been becalmed!

Space is huge and merciless it cares not if you lose command it is cruel and mean it is under hand. All quiet came the reply from every ship,I did not trust the quiet and I was glad I had a weapon at my hip.

But above the voices of my captains came the the evil sound , personal and haunting causing to my ears pain. Closer ever closer moving in the alien fleet all whispering to me “we will win” I felt like screaming back at them “No you shall not” but even in my head by voice sounded scared and thin.

Space is dark and silent it has no beginning and no end it is mysterious and dangerous and it is never, ever your friend. As I stood there in the silence of the dawn my eyes looking spacewards my senses all on fire my mind by alien forces being drawn.

I vowed that I would fight. I vowed that I would help my people win  but Lars was by my side then how can I cope without him.

All of a sudden I screamed into the mike that, it was not quiet, it was deafening,  it was painful it was scary. Beware beware they are all around us they are out there. At last I felt my ancestors my, sisters in the sight, I had not felt them lately I feared they had deserted me in my plight.  I felt their powers burning me I felt their, sister hood. I felt their blood running in my veins and knew that this was good.

I was shocked to see their faces they were nearer to me then those I’d had seen before. My Great Grandma  my Grandma and my Mother those who had schooled me for what is now in store. Their Powers so much greater than mine were raising in my soul at last, for the first time since Lars’s death I was actually feeling whole.

Though I was scared and lonely I felt their powers strong, at last, I thought, at last. Now I felt the power to go on. I held my breath and spoke to them and to my delight  turned  and spoke to me. They answered my fears with hope my dread with loving smiles and even if I stood here alone I knew that I could cope.

And so I rallied my fleet and ordered them ready as I put on my helmet and headed for my craft I heard a voice say “steady!” I swung round my visor halving my sight was that Lars in the doorway come to make sure I was ready . My sight cleared, no it was Jayden she had heard my scream she ran to me and bade me come back alive or she would personally see to it that I would never thrive!

I reached into my pocket and feeling something scraped my fingers, it was Lars’s badge. I fixed it to my flight suit I felt his presence and I prayed to him to linger. Hugging Jayden and swearing I’d be back I sent off to the launch bay to fly into the black!
