The Bridge

The sun upon it like a crown.

Reflection making it look the same up, as it does down.

The ripples in the water are the ripples of my life.

A skimming stone cuts through the water cutting my heart as if a knife.

Reflections  are reflections of my thoughts and dreams

They look so real yet all is not as simple as it seams.

Pictures may be worth a thousand words, but words are everlasting
Reflections are nice but they do not reveal all

Will our thoughts and dreams carry us across that bridge? Very worthy poem and gorgeous photo to illustrate here, willowdot! Thank you!

Thank you so much it did become much more profound than I expected! To be honest our youngest son visited us last Saturday as his wife was out shopping with her Mum and sister. I was feeling unwell and wanting to write a poem I asked for a title and he said “The Bridge” then the memories grew! XX
