Hail the Snowdrop

The ground like iron cold, would you believe a gentle  flower could brake through and take hold. A tiny stem thinner even than a reed,  fragile white petals hiding green. The nearest thing to heaven you have ever seen.

Tended by fairies.

Gentle snowdrop the first arrival of spring it is the most most joyous sight it lifts your heart and makes you want to sing. The fairies all love this flower dear they tend it lovingly, rejoicing as spring is near.

I have checked my garden and it is doing well they have braved the cold, the rock like earth and yes they are there. How my heart swells. It really is a joy to see this delicate message of hope break free.

fairy flowers

Like fairy ball gowns they swing and sway brightening up the darkest days .Or even soldiers standing tall each to attention brave and small. I cannot believe my luck to witness them so dainty yet full of pluck.

I wish that they were always here but they only grace us at the beginning of the year.

Hail the snowdrop fair ,messenger of hope and flower exstraordinair!

What a lovely picture you paint, Willow! The snowdrop emerging! A lovely thought, though stopped short by your later post 🙂

I love this, Willow! (Read it yesterday and thought I already “liked” it – have done so again.) 🙂

There is something about snowdrops that is so very delicate yet so very strong and hardy. Truly little angels they are to bring us messages of hope for spring.

That’s how I feel about seeing the first blooms of the year. You certainly have a way with words: so beautifully said. Thank you. 🙂
