Amid the winter's snow
Three Haiku on the present snow.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Black sky spangled sparky bright,ice cold.
She glides over the lake
Silver iron leaving in her silent wake.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Snowflakes falling on the lake
Tiny silver crystals formed like stellar plates
It’s a wander of nature clean and pure
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Silently falls the snow coating Rome white
Deadening city sound at night
Not been seen for twenty five years.
Thank you, we seem to be in for a very cold snap! No doubt the UK will grind to a halt!!
Willow, I saw it on the news, about your first snow there! And here, ours is all melted and it hit a record 63 degrees today. Felt like spring! (Of course it freezes at night, but….)
Anyway, hope you’re staying warm and cozy! 🙂
Thank you I do not do them very often.
Wonderful celebration of snowfall for you. Very lyrical and rhythmical in a way that sort of imitates the snowflakes falling and the increasing hush over this place. Kudos, dear Willowdot!
This is beautiful…
I ponder on gone for 25 years,
so there is a mystery 😉
all in all lovely.
I am drawn in by the graphic too!
Thank you Raven of Leyla I am grateful for your kind words. the mystery you ponder is “Not been seen for twenty five years.” I was watching the news ( unusual for me) but the “and finally” story was that it was snowing in Italy , snow falling in Rome the first time for 25yrs. I hope that has not shattered any illusions. I try to use graphics that fit the poems, it can take ages.
